The grand opening of the Ghana Mall, spearheaded by the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, marks a pivotal step in Ghana’s economic development.
Officially launched yesterday, this dynamic marketplace provides a platform for over 800 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products and services, empowering local entrepreneurs and amplifying the visibility of made-in-Ghana goods.
The Ghana Mall serves as the centrpiece of the BizBox Project, an initiative designed to provide business development support for 250,000 young entrepreneurs across the country.
Through the mall, these small businesses gain exposure to a broader market, facilitating revenue growth and fostering invaluable B2B networking opportunities.
The Ghana Mall’s goals underscore its dedication to advancing local business:
Enhanced Visibility: Elevating BizBox participants’ product and service reach.
Revenue Boost: Expanding sales potential for participating businesses.
Networking and Collaboration: Creating a vibrant B2B network for suppliers and producers.
Promotion of Local Goods: Highlighting locally produced goods and services.
Job Creation: Supporting job creation for Ghanaian youth.
Mrs. Kosi Yankey-Ayeh, CEO of GEA, highlighted the agency’s commitment to fostering SME growth in Ghana. “The dream was to create a space where Ghanaian SMEs can thrive, selling their products and attracting the funding needed for sustainable growth.
Our focus extends beyond funding and capacity development to include vital market access.
Through strategic partnerships, including the private sector, the Ghana Mall is just the beginning of greater opportunities,” she said.
Deputy Minister of Trade Hon. Kofi Ahenkora Marfo and Hon. Solomon Kotei Nikoi, Municipal Chief Executive of LaDMA, were among the dignitaries at the launch, underscoring government support for initiatives that boost local business.
The Ghana Mall stands as a symbol of economic empowerment and sustainability.
Its management prioritizes sustainable, cost-effective operations and high-quality customer service, fostering a positive shopping experience and ensuring a solid foundation for long-term success.
With its doors now open, the Ghana Mall invites MSMEs to take full advantage of this innovative platform.
By exploring and supporting the mall’s diverse offerings, Ghanaians can play an active role in nurturing a prosperous economy that champions local talent and products.
