Controversial runner Caster Semenya received a heroes' welcome as she arrived home to South Africa today - and handed her gold medal to her adoring wife.
The gender row athlete was whooped and cheered by the crowds who turned out to get a glimpse of their gold medal queen as she was met by her wife Violet Raseboya at Johannesburg Airport.
Semenya, 25, who once had to undergo humiliating gender testing to prove she was female, took 800m gold in Rio and set a new national record time.
