A farmer at Akim Aperade in the Birim South of the Eastern Region has been fined GH¢200.00 by the Akim Oda Magistrate Court after he pleaded guilty to stealing a pregnant goat belonging to his co-tenant in September this year.
In default, Kwasi Asare, 35, also called Akranke would go to jail for 18 months with hard labour.
The court, presided over by Mr. Albert Owusu Annor was told that the complainant, Abdul Karim Kwasi Nti, who also rears goats, returned from a day’s trip in Accra and discovered that his pregnant goat had gone missing.
After several inquiries about the missing animal without any success Abdul Kwasi Nti made an announcement at the local information centre.
