A 13-year -old class six pupil on Friday committed suicide at Effiakuma in the Western Region.
According to the assembly member of the area, Mr Abdulai Tufelo, the deceased, Salamatu Yakubu, woke up in the morning and went to an uncompleted building in the vicinity and hanged herself.
He said a woman who stays in the same house with the deceased noticed that Salamatu had kept long in the building and, therefore, went to check on her only to raise the alarm about the tragic incident.
Police sources confirmed the incident to the media in Takoradi on Friday, but failed to give details.
The corpse had since been deposited at the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
