The Ashaiman Divisional Police Command has arrested a gang of eight suspected robbers believed to be behind robbery activities at Zeenu and Lebanon near Ashiaman in the Greater Accra Region.
Chief Superintendent David Eklu disclosed on Okay FM that the suspects were on the Police wanted list for the past six months before their arrest. According to the police chief, the suspected robbers have been remanded by the Tema “A” Circuit Court and are currently in police custody.
He revealed that upon a tip off, the police managed to arrest one of the robbers by name Baidoo and this led to smoking out the other robbers who assisted him.
Prior to the arrest, Chief Superintendent David Eklu revealed that Baidoo and his other seven gang members had attacked and stolen 10million CFA and mobile phones from a foreign national at Lebanon. They also succeeded in robbing a family near Tema Community Annex at gun point.
But as at now, Chief Superintendent Eklu explains security at Ashaiman is better and the police patrol team is always on the look out to arrest people who are a threat to society.
