The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced on Friday the release of provisional results of the May/June 2011 General and Advanced Business Certificate Examinations.
A statement signed by Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Principal Public Relations Officer of WAEC, said a total of 3,760 candidates sat for the GBCE while 1,254 candidates sat for the ABCE. Result lists for school candidates are being sent to their schools while candidates may also access their results at Ghana.waecdirect.org.
The General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) is equivalent to the WASSE while the Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) is equivalent to the former GCE Advanced Level.
WAEC said holders of the GBCE could further their studies to the Advanced level and gain entry to tertiary institutions. �Holders of ABCE can also proceed to tertiary institutions. There are job prospects for holders of the ABCE in the industrial, commercial, banking and finance as well as other sectors of the economy,� WAEC said.
