Over 700 students of the Ghana Institute of Management and Professional Administration (GIMPA) are up in arms with the Management of the school for demanding Ghc 400 penalty from each of them as punishment for failing to pay their fees in time.
The affected students, according to XYZ News sources on campus, are threatening a massive demonstration today, Tuesday April 30, 2013 against the Administration of the school over what they describe as extortionist, penalty fees.
An ad hoc group called Concerned Students of GIMPA is rallying support among the affected students for the intended demonstration.
The students have up to the end of Tuesday, to settle their fees in full in addition to the Ghc 400 penalty or will not be registered for their end-of-semester examination.
A huge chunk of the affected students is made up of mostly final year students but a few fresh men and second year students are also affected.
Management of the school gave a deadline for the payment of the fees and notified the students of the penalty if they failed to pay the fees in full by the given date.
