The National President of UTAG, Dr Anthony Simons has described as unfortunate the decision by the Legon branch of the Association to call off the strike.
He said that decision by the Legon chapter is tantamount to undermining the UTAG front.
Dr Simons said the national executive will soon meet to take a decision on Legon.
UTAG has been on strike for almost a month now over unpaid book and research allowances, ignoring appeals to call off the action.
However, the Legon chapter broke ranks with the national association and called off the strike.
Dr Simons spoke to Radio Ghanas Agatha Asamoah where he insisted that all other chapters are still on strike.
Meanwhile, the Director of Public Affairs at the University of Ghana, Mrs Stella Amoah has confirmed that lecturers at the university have called off their strike.
She told Radio Ghana that lectures will formally begin today.
