Government has reversed its decision to withdraw utility subsides to Universities and Polytechnics.
It had earlier announced to wean all government agencies off its budgetary allocation in utility subsidies which meant tertiary institutions and other state institutions were to bear the cost of their utility bills.
This decision did not go down well with students from tertiary institutions who threatened to embark on a demonstration till government rescinds its decision.
But the Minister of Education, Professor Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang, at the Meet The Press series on Tuesday, said this was a misunderstanding.
She said public tertiary institutions have been exempted from this policy.
