Science and Maths Quiz finalists from Apam Methodist C, Greater Grace Christian Mission, Kokofu D/A Basic, and Abrekum D/A all in the Central Region have toured some facilities in Accra.
The tour which was organized by the Member of Parliament for Gomoa West constituency, Richard Gyan-Mensah in collaboration with the district education directorate, was to help students familiarise themselves with the application of science and technology in national development.
The first institution they visited was Parliament and then the University of Ghana. They also visited the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission.
Speaking to the media during the tour, Richard Gyan-Mensah said, "the plan was to take the finalist on tour to some science facilities in the country".
According to the MP, "the tour will help the students gain first-hand experience and encourage them in their future endeavors".
"I believe this will give them exposure and also build their confidence level,” he added.
