Just as one would not go choosing paints for dilapidated house with broken windows and doors, the Principal Dentist at the Platinum Orthodontist and Dental Services has advised Ghanaians to get their dental health established before seeking brighter and whiter teeth.
According to Dr. Novishi Arkutu, who has moved to Ghana after sixteen years of practice as a dentist specialized in braces, “Ghanaians have the love for overly hard toothbrushes, which actually cause so much damage to the teeth which is such a shame because our teeth is generally healthy but we are brushing them away by being too aggressive and by using the wrong type of brushes”.
“…the other thing that Ghanaians love is whiter brighter teeth and my most often equity through my website, www.Platinum-Dental.com, is about tooth whitening. We love doing it because we have the laser lamp which is only available in two other practices and we are using what is known as zoom, which all of the Hollywood Stars use. However, we need to get the dental health established first before we can go on to look at the aesthetics”.
She made this disclosure during the official outdoor of the Platinum Orthodontist and Dental Service, an ultramodern dental hospital, in the heart of Accra over the weekend.
In the view of Mrs. Arkutu, it is very important for Ghanaian public become aware of the need to look after their teeth and their overall health because whatever happens in the mouth can have an effect on whole body.
The Platinum Orthodontist and Dental Services is also currently in cooperation with the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to set up a post graduate education scheme.
“The practice has been chosen as one of the referral training centers so that dentists can come and learn a bit more about the different specialties they choose, whether it is about looking after children or doing implants, so that we sharing between us and therefore improving the standard of what we offer to the public,” Dr. Arkutu said.
