President Mills yesterday applauded the members of the Council of State for their contributions to the enhancement of the country’s democracy.
He said the wise counseling and admonitions of the council had greatly helped to propel the government’s vision and objective of “Better Ghana” in the right direction.”
The President made the commendation when he met the members of the council shortly before he held the maiden meeting with them this year at the Castle, OSU.
He said, although it was not possible for members to meet regularly as he wished, he met individual members regularly and tapped their expertise and experience to guide his work.
“On behalf of the government and people of Ghana, I wish to show appreciation to you for accepting to work with me. May the ensuing year draw us more closer to achieving our objective of building a ‘Better Ghana’, he stressed. The Chairman of the Council of State, Prof. Kofi Awoonor, described the past year as a fruitful one.
