The Abura/Asebu/Kwamankese District Assembly in the Central Region has taken delivery of a new fire tender to help improve activities of fire service personnel in the area.
The facility which is the first of its kind in the district is expected to improve activities of personnel and assist in rapid respond in any fire outbreak in the district.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), William Ata Mends made this known when addressing members during the opening session of the Assembly�s first ordinary meeting held at Abura Dunkwa.
He added further reiterated that the assembly has officially written to the head office of the Ghana Cocoa-Board in Accra for the temporal lease of an office of the cocoa service board near Baiden Primary school to be used as a fire station.
According to him a reminder has been sent in order to speed-up the process.
