Travelers from Bolgatanga to Bawku have been left stranded as the highway linking the two Municipalities is blocked by flood water from the Kuborie River.
River Kubore, a tributary of the White Volta is one of the rivers that receive excess water from the Bagre Dam increasing the volume of water.
Continuous rainfall on Wednesday evening worsened the situation and caused the river to overflow.
Travelers last night had to seek shelter at a nearby town as vehicles and travelers were unable to cross the flood water.
One of the stranded travelers, Dominic Tinko who spoke to XYZ News, said they hope the flood subsides soon.
We are hoping that the water will subside, some of us who tried to cross had to return because the pressure was increasing.
