Education has become a critical issue and taking centre stage in the policies of all the major political actors in this year�s general election campaign.
The two prominent issues of the debate are the necessity for free quality public education and the question of funding.
At the second Eminent Chiefs Lecture on Environment, Sustainable Development and Peace" organised by IDEG in Accra, the Okyehene Osagyefo Amotia Ofori Panin noted that education is a tool for sustainable development. Hence, everyone must have access to it.
Osagyefo Amotia Ofori Panin indicated that funding for the free-public education can be derived from the mining industry.
