A youth group calling itself the concerned youth of Binduri has called on the President to appoint a District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.
They wondered why almost all the newly created Districts in the country had their DCEs appointed and even confirmed while Binduri had none.
Mr Albert Asumah, a member of the youth group who read the statement at a press conference, said the absence of the DCE was seriously undermining the development of the area and appealed to the President and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to appoint somebody for the area.
The Youth said they had made several attempts to find out the reason for the delay but to no avail.
In the Upper East Region there are four newly created Districts making them 13 Districts. Among the newly created Districts are the Binduri, Pusiga, Nabdam and Builsa South Districts.
