The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly will today determine the fate of Kojo Bonsu, who has been nominated as Kumasi mayor.
Over 140 assembly members including some MPs will be voting.
Kojo Bonsus nomination from the President sparked a wind of controversy, while some NDC youths opposed the move.
Clement Kegere, the Public Relations Officer for the KMA said that, "There will first be an election of a presiding member, once he is elected, he will be sworn in by a high court judge".
Bonsu needs around two thirds of the votes to get the nod.
"We are waiting patiently and praying, that it will be a successful event" Clement Kegere.
