The full complement of the plates for the construction of the fourth LPG storage tank has arrived in the country and the contractors, SINOPEC who are assembling the Gas Processing Plant at Atuabo have almost completed welding the plates.
The construction of the fourth tank delayed following the loss of some of the plates to a storm off the shore of South Africa.
With the installation of the fourth 2000 cubic metre capacity tank and other major components, work for the mechanical completion of the plant is about 79% complete.
These came to light when the Board of the Public Procurement Authority, PA and the Select Committee of the Western Regional House of Chiefs paid a visit to the project site at Atuabo.
The Chief Executive of the Ghana Gas Company, Dr George Sipa Yankey expressed appreciation for the support of the PPA board and the Regional House for Chiefs for the successes chalk up so far.
The Chairman of the Board of the PPA, Commodore Steve Obimpeh commended the management of the Ghana Gas Company for putting to good use funds approved for the execution of the project.
Speaking on behalf of the Select Committee of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, the Omanhene of Nsien Traditional Area, Awulae Aggafi Kwame gave his impression about the project.
