Government will soon introduce a new Petroleum Exploration and Production Bill in Parliament to replace the PDNC Law 84.
The new Bill, which seeks to cure some flaws in the existing law has already received Cabinet approval.
The Bill when passed will help govern the relationship between the Government of Ghana and the Oil Producing Companies operating in the nations oil fields.
The Executive Director at the Africa Centre for Energy Policy, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam said this in an interview with Dominic Hlordzi at the sideline of an Oil and Gas workshop for the Parliamentary Press Corps in Elmina, in the Central Region.
He said the Bill will also address some governance related concerns in the oil sector.
Dr Mohammed Amin Adam said the Petroleum Exploration and Production Bill will also address environmental issues that may come up as a result of spillage by the oil companies as well as tackle transparency and accountability concerns.
