The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has described as unnecessary the upcoming National Economic Forum which is under the auspices of government.
The forum to be held on Tuesday May 13, would bring together current and former Ministers of Finance and Governors of the Bank of Ghana.
It would also assemble persons from all the political parties, development partners and businesses associations on how the current challenges facing the economy can be addressed.
But speaking on Adom FMs Dwaso Nsem on Thursday, Kwesi Pratt said Economic Forum is not the panacea to solving Ghanas economic woes.
He noted that government must focus on finding solutions to the bread and butter issues confronting the citizenry than waste the tax payers monies on talk shops.
The Insight editor added that governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) signed a social contract with Ghanaians to improve their lives and that is what government must focus on.
Kwesi Pratt called on President John Mahama to rescind its decision and adopt more workable approach to solving the problems.
