The Governing Council of the Ghana Anti � Corruption Coalition (GACC) has elected Nana Osei-Bonsu, as the new Chairman of the GACC Council and appointed Mrs. Linda Ofori-Kwafo as the Executive Secretary.
Nana Osei-Bonsu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Private Enterprises Federation (PEF) - member of the GACC- has been a key advocate for the use of anti � corruption laws and institutions in the country to help reduce corruption and trigger development. Nana Osei-Bonsu had an extensive banking career in the USA, starting at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 1972 and later joining the New York State Banking Department as a Bank Examiner in 1977. In Ghana, he co-authored the report that formed the basis of government�s decision not to sell Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB).
Nana Osei - Bonsu became the architect for the establishment and enactment of the Venture Capital Trust Fund Act and the Long Term Savings Act which was adapted in its entirety as Tier III of the new 3-Tier Pension Act.
Nana was recognized for his selfless contribution to the advancement of humanity by Lagos-based Women of Purpose Ministry International for his patronage and support to the Society for the Aged, located at Kpone-on-Sea in Greater Accra, of which he is a Life Patron.
Similarly, the new Executive Secretary, Mrs. Linda Ofori-Kwafo joins GACC with over twelve (12) years� experience in development work and anti- corruption advocacy. In recent past, she served as the Deputy Executive Director and Programmes Manager of Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) - the local Chapter of Transparency International- a global anti-corruption civil society organization.
Linda has experience working with government, state institutions, development and civil society organizations for the passage, reform and enforcement of transparency-enhancing and anti-corruption legislations.
She also serves as a resource to organizations in the areas of anti-corruption training and advocacy and human resource management. Mrs. Linda Ofori-Kwafo also serves as a member of Ghana�s Task force on Sustainable Public Procurement and a Steering Committee Member for the review of Ghana�s Implementation of United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).
Nana Osei � Bonsu, the new Chairman stated that, as we begin the journey into a new frontier in our work, Linda brings new perspective and depth that is needed to move forward in our efforts to decrease corruption and trigger development in this country�
