Mrs Gladys Asmah, a former Minister in the Kufuor administration has died at age 78.
She died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Tuesday morning at 11:45am, a family spokesperson, Mr David Okruw Aidoo has told Graphic Online.
Mrs Asmah, had been on admission at the hospital for about two weeks now.
Last week Monday some media houses reported the former Women and Children Affairs and later Fisheries Minister had passed on but it turned out to be a botched information.
Mr David Okruw Aidoo, who was a personal aide to Mrs Asmah said her condition had been attributed to old age and its associated sickness.
She was born in Cape Coast, in the Central Region.
Mrs Asmah was a Member of Parliament of Takoradi from Jan 1997 to Jan 2009, a Minister of Women and Children Affairs from 2001 to 2005 and Minister of Fisheries from 2005 to 2009.
