IT appears sanity has finally prevailed over the matter of Springfield versus the new statesman.
Background
Following publication by the new statesman against Springfield group, an energy company operating in Ghana and Nigeria, and it's young CEO Kevin Okyere, there occurred a plethora of publications drawn from the statesman article in both Ghana and Nigeria .
Distressed by these publications, Springfield group took legal action and sued the new statesman for 30 million GH, the equivalent of 7 million dollars.
The legal action was reported by many media houses including peacefmonline.com.
STATESMAN APOLOGISE
The statesman news paper in its latest edition (Friday, October 16, 2015) has carried a front page banner entitled; RETRACTION: REPORT ON KEVIN OKYERE AND SPRINGFIELD in which the paper expresses it's profound apology for the publications for which they have been sued.
It is yet unknown if Springfield will at this stage discontinue the legal action.
Kevin Okyere who is said to be one of the youngest industry CEO'S can now focus on his business in Ghana and Nigeria.
