Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation whose five- year conviction was quashed by the Court of Appeal says he had found justice in the court.

Reacting to the decision of the Court of Appeal decision Mr Tsikata said he agreed with the court that a pardon was different from an appeal and that he had suffered substantial miscarriage of justice.

According to him, he rejected the pardon by former President John Agyekum Kufour in 2008, saying it was done in bad faith.

Mr Tsikata thanked his family, counsels for their immersed support over the years, adding justice had returned to the court.

He said: “Life continues. By the Grace of God I am still alive.”

Madam Esther Cobbah Chief Executive Officer of STRACOM African and wife of Mr Tsikata described God as “Just God” and urged those who do not know him to try him.

Madam Cobbah said God was watching, adding: “I give him the Glory. We go to man for favour but we go to God for Justice.”

Mr Tsikata was acquitted and discharged by the Court of Appeal and his conviction was quashed by the court on Wednesday.

On June 18, 2008, a High Court in Accra sentenced him to five years imprisonment for willfully causing financial loss to the state to the tune of GH₵ 230, 000 as well as misapplying public property.

After his pardon, Mr Tsikata appealed against his conviction and sentence saying he had suffered a miscarriage of justice.
