Mr Stephen Ashietey Adjei, Leader of the former employees of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), has expressed dissatisfaction about the payment of ex- gratia to members of the Executive and Legislators.
He said the more than 3,000 workers of the GPHA, who were laid off 14 years ago, have not been paid since 2002 and had since appealed to the Executive including President John Dramani Mahama over their plight.
The sixth Parliament of the 4th Republic resumed sitting on Tuesday, December 20, to consider among other things, emoluments to be paid to the Article 71 office holders led by the President.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra Mr Ashietey Adjei said that was unfair to the ex- workers.
He said so far only five of their colleagues have been paid their full severance benefits.
Mr Ashietey Adjei said the ex-workers petitioned the former President John Evans Atta Mills over their plight, who ordered that the ex workers should be paid.

Ex gratia **** I can't wait to see these vampires gone*** who caused um***
Did he ask your president for payment in this article? He said he doesn't deserve that huge ex gratis since their money couldn't be paid with excuse there is no money,so,where are you going to get money to pay the out going president and the legislators?that is his question and that has nothing to do with he caused um or who is coming but the huge ex gratis when John Mahama mismanaged the economy and everything in Ghana with his incompetence and his incompetent team of ste*lers. I get wait to see 7th January with these vampires gone.
The last time you guys said you voted against the outgoing president because he did not pay your severance benefits that occurred during Kuffours regime. I think its just prudent for you guys to wait for Nana Addo to pay your benefits since you believe he is the right person to do that. Please leave the outgoing president alone to leave office with some peace of mind. After all this president received too much name calling and insult from Ghanaians especially followers of NPP for the past four years. Just leave the man alone.
