The deputy Speaker of Parliament for Burkina Faso, Dr. Ousseni Tamboura has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Railways Development, Joe Ghartey to discuss a railway interconnectivity project between Ghana and Burkina Faso.
The meeting which was held in Accra was to strengthen Burkina Faso’s commitment in the project which will commence soon.
The project before it commencement will go through procurement process in line with applicable laws to engage private sector investors to develop the proposed railway interconnectivity project between the port of Tema and Ouagadougou on Build, Operate and Transfer [BOT] basis.
The meeting was under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce in Burkina Faso, Mr. Mohamadi Savadogo and Hon Ekow Hayford, MP for Mfantseman.
The sector minister, Joe Ghartey was emphatic that Ghana is ‘ready and committed’ to the project – he was however commended by, Dr. Ousseni Tamboura for his effort to make the project reality.
