Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, made a historic visit to Kyebi, the traditional capital of Akyem Abuakwa, on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the invitation of the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu was a Special Guest of Honour at the 75th Anniversary of the death of a former Okyenhene, Nana Sir Ofori Atta, known to have been the source of transformation for Akyem Abuakwa.
There have been some historic rivalries between the Asantes and Akyems following ancestral wars fought between their forefathers in colonial Ghana.
The historic visit showed a cordial relationship between the two great Overlords.

Use this occasions to unite and develop Ghana, but not to just show-off.
There is one thing i like about the Asante Hene ie whenever he is giving his speech and its in twi, you can feel the twi flowing without English mixed with twi style of speech at all and when he is speaking English too its always superb. Nana keep it up. All chiefs in Ghana must learn from him.
Leave John Mahama alone. what has he done to you? Concentrate on the group of Arm Robbers you voted for and let him be.
When the Akyem mafias meet the Ashanti mafias, it’s all peace and love. Contrary to the perception created by people, these two are great friends and I personally know that. We need a united Ghana and not a divided one. Love me some Papa J and my presido Nana Addo
This is magnificent. If all could put away the differences and there is no Ewe, no Ga, no Akuapem,no Dagomba or Mamprusi or Dagati or Frafra or Nzema or Fante or Ashante or Brong or Akyem but simply Ghanaians then we would have gone far by now.I salute you our elders, keep it up for the young ones
PSALM 133 Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethen to dwell together in unity. It is like the precious oitment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went donwn to the skirts of his garment;.......for there the LORD commanded the blessing, evenlife for evermore. AMEN.
That is the way to go. If the whole Ghanaians are one people, how much more Ashantes and Akyems. They are indeed blood relations. Those wanted to sew seed of discord amongs we the Akyems and the Ashantes all for unearned political gains, should now bow their heads in shame. Long live Okyeman/Asanteman Long live Ghana
I LIKE THIS COMMENT, IF YOU DOUBT, BELIEVE THE AKANS
if u doubt why the akans had been so powerful in the past this is your answer. when it matters they reason. when miscreants attempted to divide them for political score they smartly thwarted it by showing love and maturity. they never took bows and arrows; never strive to show who has more juju; or wealth and power! the rest of our traditional leaders should learn and disgrace rather these greed filled infants in our contemporary politics.
THEY ARE HOLDING KEYS TO THE PALCE GATE AND DOORS
