Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako Jnr has dared the wife of former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi to mention names of persons who collected a $100,000-bribe she claims they offered.

In a recent interview with Metro TV’s ‘Good Evening Ghana, Mrs. Christine-Marie Nyantakyi had revealed that some persons had demanded a whopping $150,000 from her husband, to stop the screening of the Anas Number 12 exposé.

She noted that her husband did not have enough to pay, so he paid $50,000 less of what was demanded to the persons they believed where from the camp of investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team.

But according to her, this could not stop the documentary from being aired adding that, the bribe was returned in tranches.

“They brought $40,000 first; and then, later on, they brought $60,000 dollars,” she had said.

But the allegations by Mrs. Nyantakyi have been deflated by Mr. Baako Jnr.

“Nobody and I repeat, nobody ever contacted Anas that somebody wants to give money so that you drop it [Number 12], Nobody and it never happened anywhere, but there is a somebody and it is incumbent on the Nyantakyi family and Kennedy Agyapong to mention the names,” Mr. Baako said on Accra-based Metro TV, yesterday.

He continued: “They are afraid, because the man will deny their story and perhaps sue them. So, what they like to do is to put out those sound bites to try and tarnish the integrity of Anas. Something they can never achieve,”

To prove that the Nyantakyis may be lying, Mr. Baako asked if Nyantakyi in his statement to the police, had dropped “any hint that along the line that he was a victim of blackmail.”

He said: “The man [Anas] has given you such a near fatal blow and you are down on the canvas and you and your wife are protecting him? This is the time to deliver a counter blow. Say yes, Anas or so and so person close to Anas was sent by Anas to come and collect this money in order not to show. Come on, have the courage.

“It didn’t happen, never…they go around telling lies and you bring this beautiful lady to come to say those things on TV.”

Asked if Mrs. Nyantakyi had lied on national TV, the Managing Editor said “She lied, if she said it was Anas, but she didn’t tell us it is Anas.

If Mrs. Nyantakyi was telling the truth and meant business, she would voice out the names of the persons, Mr. Baako said.
