The government has, through the Ministry of Interior, declared Monday, January 7, 2019, as a public holiday.
In a statement signed by the Minister for Interior, Ambrose Dery, he said the day “has been declared a Public Holiday as “Constitution Day”.
The statement further urged the public to observe the day as such throughout the country.
Readers would recall that the government recently tabled a bill in parliament seeking to amend the public holiday act.
This declaration, therefore, makes January 7, 2019, the first of many Constitution Day holidays to come.

too much holidays, its not the best for mother Ghana
Mr Who Hates Reading. Are you aware that this holiday replaces an existing one on the calendar, ie AU Day? Hence no increase in number? Or are you behaving like those, who irrespective of the bare facts that confronts them will still argue like a typical novice?. Please grow up!!
This short man president don’t think. Use...less holiday.
how can we be productive with these soo many unnecessary holiday. Holidays are meant for those who are working. but that is not the case in our society. abt 90% of the population are unemployed or self employed. Out of the abt 10% who are working about 70% are employed by private ple who need them to be more productive. what is the essence of telling someone who is not working to stay at home and rest? the kind of stup1d1ty that these politicians exhibit when in power is beyond my imagination.
