Road contractors have appealed to government to settle their debts immediately.
According to them they besieged the ministry of Roads and Highways to demand payment for their debt arrears owed them by government.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, President of the progressive Road Contractors Association, madam Joana Agyei explained that their meeting with the Minister for Roads and Highways came to an abrupt end after their members stormed the premises to demand their payment.
She noted that though government is engaging them in discussions as to how they will settle their debts, they should do it immediately to prevent further demonstrations and picketing.
"The NPP government promised to pay contractors within their first hundred days in office but the story is different now."
"We are pleading with government to settle us because our bankers are also selling our assets to defray the loan we took from them," she emphasized.
