Managing Director of Despite Media Group, comprising Peace FM, Peacefmonline, Okay FM, UTV, Hello FM, Neat FM, Dr. Fadda Dickson has been adjudged African Most Strategic Marketing Media Personality of this year.
The man, affectionately called the 'godfather' of Ghana's media, won this prestigious award at the 2021 African Cashless Payment Systems (ACPS) Conference and the maiden Foreign Investors Network (FIN) Awards held at the Movempick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
Dr. Fadda Dickson bagged this award for his industrious work and digital transformation drive in advancing the Despite Media's growth, in general, his great strides in the media fraternity.
The African Cashless Payment Systems (ACPS) Conference and the maiden Foreign Investors Network (FIN) Awards in Accra came off from Sunday, November 28 to Tuesday, November 30, 2021 under the theme ”Building a Cashless Africa”.
Ghana was chosen for the conference because of her digital innovative push dubbed ''The Digital Ghana Agenda'' led by Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Personalities who were also up for the FIN Awards included the Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, the Bank of Ghana, National Communications Authority among other persons who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in their various fields of endeavor.
Speakers for the conference were Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Archie Hesse, CEO of Ghana Interbank Payments and Settlements Systems (GhIPSS) and Bright Simons, Founder and CEO of mPedigree.
Also in attendance at the event were the Deputy Chair of African Union, Thomas Kwesi Quartey, Dr. Ernest Addison, Governor, Bank of Ghana and Isa Pantami, Nigeria's Minister of Communications and Digital Economy among others.
