A final year Valley View University student, Peniel Dennis Ojuka, has allegedly committed suicide.
According to a close source, the deceased a level 400 Development Studies student had complained of depression after he failed to rewrite his trailed courses with his mates this year.
The source added that, the deceased was mostly seen at his department begging for his trailed courses to be mounted to enable him rewrite those papers. As efforts to have has trailed papers rewritten proved futile, he confided in close friends about his suicidal thoughts.
However, management of the school has issued a statement about the demise of the 24-year-old, student.
"We announce with great sadness the sudden demise of one of our students at our Oyibi Campus, Peniel Dennis Ojuka (24 years), a final year student with the Department of Development Studies.
"In the meantime, we entreat the University community to keep Peniel’s family and the VVU family in our prayers, while encouraging all to remain calm during these difficult times. We are also by this notice entreating Peniel’s roommates and close friends who have been affected by this tragic loss to access the University’s counselling services for the needed support," the statement said.
