Sixteen(16) people are feared dead in a ghastly accident at Gomoa Okyereko on the Accra-Cape Coast highway in the Central Region.
A Youtong bus with registration number GT 5866-L and a Goodness Energy Fuel Tanker with registration number WR 2063-10 collided head-on resulting in the death of sixteen people at Gomoa Okyereko at about 5:00 am on Tuesday morning.
The bus was traveling from Abidjan to Buduburam while the tanker was filled with petrol, traveling from Accra heading towards Takoradi.
The cause of the accident is not readily known, but the rescue team from the Ghana National Fire Service is at the scene.
As a result, the road has been blocked to traffic as security agencies on-site work around the clock to restore normalcy.
