Pastor Daniel Kuffour in his sermon to the members of Assemblies of God Holy Ghost Worship Centre, Ashaiman Jericho admonished members to cut some of their overtime at work and give to God.
He stated this, while preaching a message titled " Give all your best to God". Picking his key scriptures from Job 35:7 and Romans 11:33-36.
He said Christians need to give God their time and everything that was dear to them as the source of all things and he deserved it.
“The amount of time we give to God has an equivalent monetary value because time is money. “
He added that as Isaac gave to God, it was equally important to give the best to Him.
Quoting from Luke 6:38, he expatiated by saying “give and it shall be given unto you, good measure pressed down shaken together shall God give unto you.”
He said God did not need the counsel of man to bless as all things belonged to Him as the source, emphasing the need to find time to glorify God as he was the rewarder of all efforts.
He shared a story wherein the village farmers always took the best of their harvest for the market and kept the less valuable crops for their household meals.
According to him Job 41:11b says “... Everything under heaven belongs to me, adding that we are just custodians of God’s property, money and time and we shouldn't find it as robbery to give it back to Him.”
Rev. Thomas Henry Quamson, the Senior Pastor of the branch, in an interview after service told the GNA that "time belongs to God, he controls it and has given it to us to manage, but there are times we are so much consumed by our working hours that we do not make time to serve God.”
Deacon Yirenkyi Frank Owusu of the Church said the message was a timely one and God was able to bless givers.
He said giving the best to God would convince him to applaud the efforts of the givers Just a like Abraham attempted to give Isaac to God as a sacrifice, but in return God provided him a ram for the sacrifice.
Deacon Yirenkyi, also a teacher, added that "sometimes we look at the money we receive from the extra time and find it difficult to let go, but we need to trust in God that he is able to bless us above what we give."
Juliet Ansah, a member of the church and a nurse also told GNA that God deserved the time of the faithful and it should be given to him.
She said it was only God who was able to bless and so there was the need to make time to serve him for blessings.
