The Ministry of Energy and Petroleum on Tuesday announced an extension to the short-term load management programme, which begun two weeks ago.
The Ministry said this was due to a fire incident at the Takoradi 3 Thermal Plant, which has necessitated a shutdown of the plant.
A statement signed by Mr Ras Liberty Amewode, Deputy Head of Communications, and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the Ministry would like to assure the public that all efforts are being made to restore normal power supply within the shortest possible time.
Consequently, the Electricity Company of Ghana will come out with a load management programme, the statement said.
