A number of the girls who were captured on leaked videos openly smoking Indian hemp have been given new looks by some opinion leaders who are mad at them for their conduct.

An amalgamation of youth chiefs within the Tamale Metropolis began tracking down the infamous Tamale wee smoking girls over the weekend. The traditional rulers, with support from some worried youth within the Metropolis, have arrested and shaved off the hair of some of them.  According to them, they will go ahead and arrest all girls engaged in wee smoking within the metropolis in order to rid various suburbs within the city of such bad nuts.

Daily Guide gathered that the move was to warn the ladies that they could only engage in such acts of indiscipline within the confines of their homes and not in public. A number of opinion leaders are already upset about contents of the videos which went viral featuring young girls smoking wrapped substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The young girls are reportedly rubbing shoulders with their male counterparts over who has the capacity to smoke wee more   than the other. After the exposure of their engagement in the wee smoking contest, a number of the culprits have since fled the metropolis for fear the youth chiefs will come after them. This notwithstanding, the youth chiefs have served notice they will smoke them out, deal with them in their own way and hand them over the police.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, disclosed to Daily Guide that the police administration is currently studying the videos to identify the characters involved. He indicated that moves would be made to apprehend the suspects for circulating offensive videos and appealed for the support of residents in tracking down the suspects.

According to him, the conduct of the persons captured in the videos affects everyone, noting that the cooperation of residents to unearth the cause of this negative practice would be much appreciated. It would be recalled that videos showing girls in their early 20s smoking wee went viral on various social media platforms a fortnight ago.

While puffing the thick smoke from the wrapped substances suspected to be Indian hemp, the girls openly boasted about what they could do after going “high”. In one of the videos, a girl who identifies herself as Survivor is seen puffing thick smoke from her nostrils after piping a lighted wrap of wee and raining insults on a certain Cash One, accusing him of indulging in cyber fraud otherwise known as Sakawa.

At the concluding part of the video, she is joined by a colleague only known as Hamida, who claims she has been smoking since 1992 and warns the said Cash One to shut up or incur their wrath. Another video which is being circulated on various social media platforms by another duo known as the Ebola Girls captures them boasting about their ability to smoke wee unceasingly and daring the police to hunt them down.

The lead character in the video, who calls herself Hajia for Real, and her supporting character, Awula aka Viva for Real, justify their decision to engage in prostitution and urge their colleagues to smoke wee but endeavour to eat well.

According to them, they have seen the benefits of smoking wee and eating properly, dispelling any rumour about its ability to cause any ailment. Directing their anger at an unknown man they failed to name, the duo claim he is not their match and should not think he is the only one within the metropolis who can “blaze in weed”.

Residents, especially Islamic scholars, have criticised the conduct of the girls in particular and are calling for their heads, noting that they are a bad influence on others.
