As part of efforts by the government to retool the Ghana Police Service, 105 Toyota Corolla and Camry vehicles were presented to the police administration at the Police Headquarters, Operations, in Accra on Wednesday, 29 August.
Deputy Minister of Information, Nana Dokua Asiamah-Adjei made the presentation on behalf of Government.
In her brief remarks, she said due to advancement in technology, there is always an upsurge of crime, so, there is the need for the police to be given logistical support to deliver on its mandate.
Ms Asiamah-Adjei added that 95 more of the vehicles will be arriving Wednesday evening, to make it a total of 200.
The Director-General/Public Affairs Directorate, who received the vehicles, stated that the cars will be used as expected of the Service.
