Abesim, a farming community in the Sunyani Municipality turned into a state of grief when a two-year-old boy drowned in a stream on Wednesday.
The body of Henry Ansah Gyabaah has since been deposited at the regional hospital mortuary in Sunyani.
Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the story to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the incident happened around 1800 hours.
He said the deceased who lived with her grandmother Akua Atta, 53, got missing from the house and people in the neighborhood conducted a search and later discovered his lifeless body in a nearby stream.
Chief Inspector Oppong said the boy died on arrival at the Regional Hospital.
