The Ghana Meteorological Agency says the first burst of the year’s Harmattan will hit the Upper East and Upper West regions first from today, November 29.
In a weather advisory release for December this year through to February 2020, the meteo agency also stated the atmosphere between this period is expected to be very dry and hazy with hot afternoon and cool temperatures at night.
As a result of this weather pattern, visibility will be slightly affected due to the suspension of dust particles in the air, it sadi.
“For the first week in December 2019, few areas over the coastal sector and its immediate north will still experience isolated cases of thundery showers. Thereafter, dry and slightly hazy conditions will set in,” the meteo agency noted.
The Northern sector will see relative humidity with low, but very much drier atmosphere. The general public is cautioned to avoid naked fires, and also keep the skin moisturized at all times.
Food vendors are also warned to ensure proper hygienic processes by adequately covering their food.
