I, Raymond Archer, Editor-In-Chief of The Enquirer newspaper, for myself and on behalf of Focal Media Ltd and the management of The Enquirer newspaper wish to apologize to His Lordship, Justice P. Bright Mensah of the High Court (Financial Division 1) and Mr. Akwasi Osei Adjei, for series of publications in the newspaper, which have been found to constitute contempt of the honorable court.

The publications complained of, were dated November 26, 2009 (Titled: Dan Gyimah & Osei Ajei Boxed In), December 3, 2009 (Titled: Ricemasters Trial Bombshell), December 10, 2009 (Titled: Trial of Ricemaster: AG Witnesses Dazzle In Court) and December 17, 2009 (Titled: Osei-Adjei Lawyers Backtrack).

We accept full responsibility for the contents of the publications and in line with the Court order hereby apologize to his Lordship and Mr. Akwasi Osei-Adjei.

We accordingly retract the said publications and regret any prejudice they may have caused to Mr. Akwasi Osei-Adjei in the ongoing trial. We are sincerely sorry.
