A Member of the Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, says the exclusion of Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, former Acting National Coordinator of the National Youth Authority from President Mills entourage to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia was in the best interest of Ghana.

The third child of Ghanas first President was sidelined as two of his siblings, Dr. Francis Nkrumah and Samia Nkrumah, Chairperson of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), were invited by government on a trip to Ethiopia where a statue of their late father was unveiled at the forecourt of the newly constructed AU building in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the weekend.

Sekou went ballistic as a result of the apparent snub and ripped into President Mills Father For All mantra saying If you as a president, even during your campaign, one of your campaign messages to Ghanaians is that youd be the father of all and then all of a sudden when it is something to do with Nkrumah, you decide to sideline some of his children, then of course it rather exposes how hypocritical our President isHe is not after all the father of all but the father of some.

But the NDCs Communications Team member maintains it was right on the part of government not to have allowed Sekou to tag along on the trip to Ethiopia saying his (Sekous) presence would have been an embarrassment to the country and to a large extent the image of his late father, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

According to him, he (Sekou) would have denigrated President Mills just as he did to his own father; when he described him (Dr. Kwame Nkrumah) as a dictator during the 2008 electioneering campaign.

Contributing to discussions on Radio Golds Alhaji and Alhaji programme, Kwakye-Ofosu posited that by closely associating himself with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), the very people who overthrew his late fathers regime, Sekou has shown gross disrespect to Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumahs ideologies and principles.

I have stopped taking Sekou serioussomeone who joined five political parties in one month; from NDC to CPP to NPP because he thinks Nana Akufo Addo can be a good President then back to the NDC. He does not appear to have the capacity to make up his mindDenigrating his own father someone who is respected worldwide; calling his own father a dictator, causing embarrassment all over, we cannot transfer that embarrassment to President Mills. I cannot imagine for one day how the President could have carried him alongThe decision to leave him behind is in the right directionit beats my imagination why Sekou Nkrumah is so different from the rest of his siblingsthe rest (Samia, Francis, Gamel) behave themselves rather well except Sekou..., he said.
