The opposition NPP MP for Adansi Asokwa, KT Hammond, is alleging that some of the infamous judgment debt paid to Alfred Woyome was used to fund the controversial new headquarters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Mr. Hammond, the NDC chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei and the General Secretary of the party, Mr. Asiedu-Nketia, must be made to answer questions relating to monies doled out to the party for the construction of their party headquarters.
He told Citi News: “There was a transfer of Gh˘30 million from this same account to the contractors who are apparently putting up that ultra modern office for the NDC that Asiedu-Nketia talked about. ”
Hon. Hammond also alleged that documents sighted by the NPP revealed that the account of Mr. Woyome which was used to pay GTV for the coverage of President Mills’ flagbearership campaign is the same account that was used to pay for the controversial NDC headquarters.
The Chief State Attorney, Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh, his wife as well as the Director of Legal Services at the MoFEP, Paul Asimenu, have all been formally charged for aiding and abetting in crime and are in remand with the exception of Mrs. Nerquaye-Tetteh who is on bail.
A former minister of sports, Yaw Osafo-Maafo and the former education minister, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, have also been invited by the Police CID to help in their investigations.
