General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has commended the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr. Mensah Otabil on his critique of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) much espoused free Senior High School (SHS)policy.
Addressing his congregation, Pastor Mensah Otabil said education cannot be free when Ghanaians still pay taxes to the government.
He stated unequivocally that those who believe in such promises that fees will be free, do not understand what goes into the payment of such fees by parents. Pastor Otabil was certain making secondary education free will compromise quality.
Commenting on the issue on Ekosii Sen programme Monday, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said Pastor Otabil has exposed the NPP’s hypocrisy and double standards. According to him, supposed free SHS policy is a political gimmick meant to deceive Ghanaians just to win power.
General Mosquito indicated that the statement by a highly respected man of God like Pastor Otabil vindicates NDC’s position about the NPP’s educational policy.
He posited that the freebies being promised NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo will cause his defeat the December polls.
