Weeks after Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo had accepted the verdict of the 2012 historical presidential election petition filed by himself, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (running mate) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, his Nima based residence has been flooded with both international and local dignitaries congratulating him.
Many are of a view that the NPP’s 2012 flagbearer deserves to be honoured for his pivotal role to have ensured peace after the Supreme Court which heard the petition case dismissed the petition filed by the NPP.
People’s National Convention (PNC) scribe, Bernard Mornah was purported to have disagreed with the call to bestow on Nana Akufo-Addo an honor for his role in ensuring peace by publicly accepting the verdict moment after it was read by the apex court.
According to Mr. Mornah, Nana Addo deserves no praise. Adding that, he has done nothing worth to be honoured after challenging the legitimacy of President John Dramani Mahama.
But NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East constituency, Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has expressed shocked about Bernard Mornah’s utterances since his party’s flagbearer, Hassan Ayariga has also extoled Nana Addo for being a statesman.
He however cautioned him to desist from maligning Nana Addo as a hooligan after alleging that, Bernard Mornah is an associate of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“We know where he (Bernard Mornah) is leading to. The fact that he is a PNC member we know where his heart is. He should stop making these comments to inflame passions. What Nana Akufo-Addo has done is exceptional and he has been applauded internationally. I can tell from my heart that, the NDC would have caused mayhem if the apex court had declared NPP as victors of the petition case.
“…The accolades will continue to be hailed on Nana Addo; Bernard Mornah can hate him, Addo Dankwa deserves a Nobel Peace Prize, why do the NDC and Bernard Mornah hate Nana Addo?” he questioned.
