The Eastern Regional Branch of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), has given the assurance that it would work closely with the Regional Co-ordinating Council, and the various Municipal and District Assemblies in the region, to ensure the realization of all the electoral promises made by the party to the region.
The party also expressed its appreciation to the various political parties in the region for their co-operation and understanding during the past year.
The branch observed that , the year 2014 promises to be a good one, and therefore appealed to all traditional authorities,
non- governmental organizations, and all Ghanaians, to cooperate with government to ensure the achievement of all its programmes, to meet the aspirations of the people.
This was contained in a new year message of the party delivered by Mr Bismark Tawiah Boateng, Eastern Regional Organizer of the party at Koforidua.
The branch assured the President of the Republic of Ghana that , this year the party would spend much time informing the people in the deprived areas of the region, about the achievements of government, and to mobilize them to play their roles in building of a strong and united country.
The party expressed its appreciation to members of the security services for their operations during the Christmas festivities which helped to reduce crime wave in the region, and in the Koforidua municipality during the period.
The party advised all members in the region who would be seeking any position during its conference in the region , to realize that, the elections are a family affair, they should, therefore, conduct themselves in a such a way that at the end of the elections, unity would be achieved in the party.
The branch wished all members of the party, members of other political parties in the region, traditional authorities and the people of the Eastern Region, a happy and prosperous New Year.
