The Minority Spokesperson on Finance, Dr Akoto Osei has expressed worry at the rate of borrowing by government from the domestic economy.
He said the government as at the end of last year borrowed $ 23 billion from the economy, far exceeding what the NPP borrowed at the end of its tenure, which was $ 8 billion.
Dr Akoto Osei was speaking at a news conference in Accra on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, government has been commenting on the news conference organised on Thursday by the opposition NPP on the state of the economy.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, a Presidential Staffer, Dr Clement Apaak said government is on course to building a resilient and robust economy.
He said measures put in place by the President in the fight against corruption are manifestations of government's commitment to ensure value for money.
