THE AYENSUANO Youth Wing of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) is demanding the immediate resignation of their Member of Parliament (MP),Hon. Ayeh Paye over what they described as a display of disunity tactics being exhibited by the MP.
The NPP youth are, therefore, calling on the regional and national executives of the NPP to as a matter of urgency intervene to call the MP to order and force him to step down willingly for a bye election.
At a press conference held by the youth, Joseph Kafui Ali, leader of the group, levelled eight allegations against the MP which according to them, merits his resignation in order to keep the seat safe for the party.
The youth said among others that the MP has failed to utilize the MP's Common Fund and the GETFUND to the advantage of the community which has led to underdevelopment of the area.
According to the youth, what baffles them are excuses given by the MP that his share of the funds are being used to pay school fees of brilliant, but needy students in the constituency.
They claim that, that is not the situation and only friends are the ones allegedly benefiting from the fund.
The youth added that,Hon. Paye has failed to honour his campaign promises to the people with vague promises at the detriment of the party.
The youth stated that the attitude of the MP was shown when he allegedly cast insinuations against the former Member of Parliament for the area in the presence of delegates during the previous constituency election.
They threatened that failure to call him to order will lead to mass defection and campaign against the sitting MP if presented again as parliamentary candidate for NPP in 2016.
According to them, it is very likely that Hon Paye will be re-elected as candidate for the party in the constituency and that is their worry.
Reacting to the allegations, Hon. Paye called on the general public to treat the allegations by the youth with the contempt that they deserve since they are malicious and cooked-up by his detractors and persons with interest in the seat.
