Dela Edem, a member of the Communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has admonished the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) over claims that Nayele Ametefeh, the busted "cocaine" lady, is a close ally of the governing party.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme, Dela Edem wants the leadership of the opposition party to render an apology to President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC leaders for roping the party into the Rubygate saga.

Supporting his assertion with press statement released by the General Secretary of the governing party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Dela Edem noted that the NPP should do the honourable thing by retracting the comments they made regarding the NDC when the woman was busted in London carrying 12 Kilos of cocaine.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia also known as "General Mosquito" told the media at a press conference on Wednesday that it was during the NPP's era that the convict (Nayele) begun her illegal drug dealings.

He stressed that the NPP should therefore rather be held for the illegal act by the 32-year old "cocaine" lady which led to her 8years 8month sentence in the United Kingdom.

Adding his voice to General Mosquito's stance on the issue, Dela Edem recounted that if the lady was introduced into the cocaine business in 2004, under the erstwhile Kufour government; then the NPP has no recourse to link the NDC to the convict.

He further wondered why some NPP gurus like Kennedy Agyapong and Omari Wadie seemed to be so much privy to the lifestyle of the lady even before her trial in court.

To him, the NPP seemed to know much about the Rubygate saga that leaves much to be told about how and where they got their details.

Dela Edem concluded that the NPP leaders should swallow their pride and offer "an apology to the President for disgracing him, saying all the things we said about him were lies. We have discredited him.

“Today, it has been established that she bears no political party’s card. She has hobnobbed with socialites. In fact, every lady has power. Every lady has influence. All that matters is her beauty. For a beautiful lady, definitely she has socialized with NPP, NDC, CPP...So, she is somebody who is influential and it’s due to her beauty,” he asserted.
