The Ashanti Regional Motor and Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service has impounded a Raf 4 vehicle with registration number GR 9195 P.
Lindford Owuo, also known as CD, a known staunch member of NDC, has been roaming the streets of Kumasi with an inscription: “Kofi Boakye must also go” – with NDC colours and images of the president decorated on the car.
The NDC stalwart was at large when the MTTD personnel arrived at the scene near Labour office in Kumasi, where the car was parked. A source at the Regional Police Command has indicated that CD, as he is known in Kumasi, would be processed for court because the car is suspected to have stolen.
The paper also gathered that CD is on the wanted list of the Police for a number of offences. Onlookers said the development is an indication that the NDC as a party is not happy with the presence of DCOP Kofi Boakye as the most popular police chief in the region, in the wake of the sacking of two top political figures in the persons of Dr. Samuel Sarpong and Joseph Yamin last week.
