The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sam Pyne has called on the Ghana Police Service to provide security to legislators in the country.
According to him, the legislators deserve to be protected by the security services in order to avert any possible threats against their lives.
He said this during a panel discussion programme on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' on Tuesday.
Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi, Sam Payne condemned the brutal murder of the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North J.B Danquah at his residence.
To him, the Police service in providing security to private persons will inure to the benefit of the service because it will serve as a form of revenue generation to the service.
He further ruled out the difficulties that may accompany a decision by the Police in personally securing the lives of the Parliamentarians, saying "the Police can deploy 230 personnel to safeguard 230 Members of Parliament (MPs)."
